Microsoft® Outlook® 2000 Mail Tutorial
Microsoft Outlook® 2000 may be configured to retrieve your e-mail messages from your e-mail account at your domain name. Once Outlook® is configured for your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail account, you can send and receive e-mail using this program, as well as set up processing rules and organize your e-mail messages on your desktop. The following outlines a basic procedure to perform this configuration.

1. Launch the Outlook® 2000 program

2. Select Tools-->Accounts from the menu bar
This should bring you to the screen labeled Internet Accounts where there may already be accounts listed under the Mail tab.

3. Click Add...Mail
A new screen called Internet Connection Wizard will be displayed. Type in your name as you would want it to appear in your email messages and select Next.

 

 

 

4. Type in your full email address for your domain and select Next.

 


 

 

5. Type in mx.*yourdomain.com for the incoming (POP3 or IMAP) server and your ISP's SMTP mail server settings and select Next.

 

 
 
   

 

6. A new screen called Internet Mail Logon will be displayed. Type in your full email address for your account name and enter your password and select "Remember Password" if appropriate.

 

 
 
 
   

 

7. Select Next.

8. Select method of internet connection suitable for your computer..

 

 

 
 
 
   

 

9. Select Next.

10. Complete wizard by selecting Finish.

You are now finished with youre configuration!

If, for any reason, you are unsuccessful retrieving e-mail when clicking on Send/Receive, please double check your settings as the problem most likely lies in using:

1. a misspelled username and password or

2. an incorrect incoming mail server
