FrontPageŽ 98 Tutorial
Welcome to DreamWorx Hosting's FrontPageŽ 98 Tutorial.
To publish your FrontPageŽ web to your DreamWorx Hosting account please select one of the following:
I have a new account, and have a web that needs to be uploaded.
I have an existing site with DreamWorx Hosting, and have recently added FrontPageŽ to my service.
New Account Instructions
If you have recently signed up a new account, and have a website that needs to be uploaded to your account, follow these instructions:
1. Open your existing web on your local machine by choosing Open Existing Web from the File menu
2. Browse your local machine to load your current pages into the FrontPageŽ
Explorer
3. Choose Publish FrontPage Web from the
File menu
4. In the Destination Web Server box, type in your
account name (i.e. name.dreamworxhosting.net, or domainname.com)
NOTE :
If your domain name has not been completely registered and propagated yet, then you will need to use your IP number in this field.
This number was supplied in your confirmation e-mail.
5. In order to copy your web to the
<root web>, leave the Destination Web Name field blank
NOTE:
If you want to create a new web that goes in a separate directory, then using a name here will create that subdirectory.
6. Check the Add to an existing FrontPage Web
checkbox
7. Click OK
Existing Account Instructions
If you already have a web site on our servers, connect and upload/edit the site using the FrontPageŽ Explorer by taking the following steps:
2. Choose
Open Existing Web from the File menu
3. Under Web Server type in your account name
(i.e.
name.dreamworxhosting.net, or domainname.com)
4. Click the List Webs button
You should see <root web>
5. Click OK
NOTE: When a name and password prompt appear use your account name (just like above), and your FTP password. Any existing pages in your account should now show up, and you are ready to go.
