What
is a domain name?
A
domain name is really just an alias for your IP number address. When you
sign up to put a web site on the Internet, you are given an Internet Protocol
Number, or address. All the computers on the Internet can retrieve your
web site by pulling up this IP number. A domain name will allow you to
have a World Wide Web address like www.yourcompany.com instead of having
only a number such as 209.103.204.100.

How
do I set permissions in FrontPage 98 or 2000?
FrontPage
allows users to determine what kind of access web users have in their
web site. To set permissions, right click the specific folder in the
"All Folders" window (left side of the screen) and then click on Properties.
The Properties box will have three check boxes on the bottom. They each
perform the following functions:
Allow
programs to be run - This permits .exe and .dll files to be run within
the directory.
Allow
scripts to be run - This permits scripts written in ASP and Perlscript
to be run. Otherwise, your ASP pages will be non-functional.
Allow
files to be browsed - If this is not checked, then web browsers do not
have access to view the contents of that directory. For example, if your directory
contains your company's database, it would be wise to leave this unchecked.
Otherwise, if checked, someone may be able to download your company's entire
database right from the web -- not a very enticing idea.

is RAID 1?
Raid
Level 1 means that one drive mirrors the other. In the event that one of your
drives fails, the other drive will immediately continue to serve data. An
additional feature with Raid is that, if one drive is overtaxed, the overflow
requests will be handled by the second drive. RAID1 requires two drives, but
you will lose the disk space of one of the drives. Ex. Two 9.1GB drives will
only give you a total of 9.1GB of disk space.
